12 die in Osun auto accidents in March, says FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun State Command has disclosed that 12 people lost their lives in 33 auto accidents in the state in March.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi said the accidents were mostly caused by disobedience to traffic rules and regulations.

“The number of accidents recorded in March was 33, with 12 deaths due to disobedience to traffic laws,” she said.

The spokesperson said that the command was able to rescue 262 victims from various accidents scenes while 464 traffic offenders were apprehended within the month under review.

She noted that officers of the command would not relent in ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state, warning that any traffic violator will be made to face the punishment as stipulated in the law.

Ogungbemi further said that the sector was able to give out 552 drivers’ licences, while 2,861 licences were yet to be collected.
