1,591 Oyo Council ad-hoc workers get permanent employment

The 1,591 local government ad-hoc workers in Oyo State have been converted into permanent staff in a bid to strengthen the councils workforce
Governor Seyi Makinde had in October last year approved the conversion of ad hoc staff in the service of the 33 Local Government Councils in the State to permanent staff to bridge the gap in the workforce at the local government level.
Meanwhile, a statement signed by the commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, announced that the letters of appointment are ready for collection.
Ojo stated that due process for employment was followed effectively and perfected.
He said the distribution of appointment letters will take place at the Local Government Service Commission from Monday, February 3rd to Thursday, February 6th, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily.
While congratulating the successful candidates and wished them success in their new roles, the commissioner stated that collection of appointment letters by proxy is strictly prohibited.
The schedule for the distribution of letters is as follows: Monday, 3rd February 2025 for Administrative Officer, Agricultural Officer, Data Processing Officer, Engineering, Building, and Quantity Surveyor, Estate Valuation Officer, Environmental Health Officer, Information Officer, Land Surveyor.
Tuesday, 4th February 2025 for Clerical Officer,Wednesday, 5th February 2025 for Messenger and Cleaner, Thursday, 6th February 2025 for Driver / Mechanic, Articulated Vehicle Drivers and Watchmen.
