2 rescued as building collapses in Oyo

A building under construction has collapsed at Ruby’s Court Estate, behind Saint Anne’s School, Olorunsogo, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo State.

General Manager of the Oyo State Emergency Management Agency, Akinyemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident, stating that it was reported at 1:53 p.m. on Tuesday via a telephone call.

He confirmed that two persons were rescued alive from the collapsed building.

Akinyinka said the agency’s personnel, led by ACFS Adekola (Mrs), were promptly deployed to the scene, where they found that a one-storey building under construction had collapsed, trapping two people under the rubble.

“The two male victims were rescued alive, and one who sustained serious injuries was taken to a nearby hospital,” the general manager said.

He assured that emergency responders had secured the site to prevent further harm.
