2021 council election: Chairmanship aspirant, Olorunrinu withdraws court case against Lagos APC

A chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu, has withdrawn a court case filed against the party and the immediate past Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun. WesternPost can authoritatively report.

Olorunrinu, a former lawmaker who represented Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly in the 8th Assembly (2015-2019), aspired to become the chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government in 2021.

It would be recalled that Olorunrinu sued the party over alleged substitution of his name for the incumbent Chairman, Valentine Buraimoh after emerging victorious at the party’s primaries held in May 2021.

In his withdrawal notice, dated April 13th, 2022, the former lawmaker said he discontinued the claim against the Defendants/Respondents in the suit entirely.

WesternPost had reported that the local government election took place on July 24th, 2021 across the 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

APC won all the 57 local governments and LCDAs.
