2023: Dont vote those who sold PDP to APC in 2015- Wike tells Lagos delegates

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has advised delegates of the party not to vote for those that conspired in 2015 to sell out PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the party’s presidential primary.

Wike said the conspiracy changed the position of the PDP from a ruling party to an opposition party.

The presidential aspirant, who said this on Saturday in Lagos while wooing the party’s delegates, added that he had been a committed party man that had never since 1998 defected from the PDP.

“Those who are struggling to get your votes now are those who sold our party, PDP to the APC in 2015 and thereby made PDP to become an opposition party. You must not give such people your votes because they can’t be trusted,” he said.

Wike stated that PDP made him and that he was ready to give back to the party by flying its presidential flag in 2023.

He added that he has the capacity and strength to face the APC’s presidential candidate in 2023, assuring the delegates of total victory if given the ticket.

“If you give me the ticket, go home and sleep, I will show APC pepper. When APC heard I am aspiring, they panic. I beg you to give me the ticket, you will see what I will do APC at the poll,” he added

Wike said he is counting on the support of the delegates in Southwest PDP to clinch the ticket, adding that Nigeria needs a president who can tackle the country’s challenges frontally.

Meanwhile, the State Chairman of PDP, Hon. Phillips Aivoji, said the cordial relationship between Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Wike had shown the direction Lagos delegates would be going at the primaries, saying that the state chapter is counting on the support from the two governors to win the state in 2023.

On the entourage of Wike were; Governor Makinde, former governors Ayo Fayose, Donald Duke, Ibrahim Dankwanbo, former Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke amongst others.
