Indications have emerged that about ten members of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s government will be resigning their appointments anytime soon.

Westernpost gathered that five commissioners, three permanent secretaries and two aides are contesting for various positions in the 2023 general elections.

To this end, the state government has ordered through a memo signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Oladunni Odu, that any member of the cabinet who wishes to contest in the forthcoming election should resign his or her appointment on or before Thursday this week in line with the provision of the Electoral (Amendment) Act.

It was gathered that about 10 members of the cabinet have indicated interest to contest for either the House of Representatives or House of Assembly positions.

It was learnt that the decision did not go well with a commissioner who hails from the riverine area of the state as still enjoys the office he is occupies.
