2023: Onu, Akpabio resign as ministers after Buhari’s directive

Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio and his Science and Technology counterpart, Ogbonaya Onu have resigned to contest for presidency in 2023.

Both men resigned on Wednesday after President Muhammadu Buhari directed all his ministers interested in vying for elective positions in the 2023 general elections to resign before Monday.

WesternPost gathered that both men dropped their resignation letters at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation after the Federal Executive Council meeting where the directive was given.

They both follow Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba who was the first to resign.

WesternPost had exclusively reported that Nwajiuba resigned on April 28 as against reports that he resigned on Wednesday.
