2024 PYLS: Tinubu, Shettima to host Nigerian youths at presidential villa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will host Nigerian youths as they converge at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for the 2024 Progressives Young Leaders Summit (PYLS) from September 3rd to 5th.
A statement issued on Friday by the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel, said the 3-day event, themed “Shaping the Future We Want: From Restiveness to Inclusion, Action, and Development,” will be officially opened by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to Israel, the summit, organized by the ruling APC in collaboration with the Office of the APC National Youth Leader, is dedicated to channeling the energy and aspirations of young Nigerians towards building a future that embodies their collective dreams.
He said that a communiqué would be delivered to President Tinubu at the end of the event, saying that the summit will bring together a distinguished gathering of Nigerian public and private sector leaders, government officials, policymakers, and dynamic young executives.
The APC National Youth Leader added that the event aims to bridge the gap between youth and government, foster intergenerational dialogue, and provide a platform for young Nigerians to actively engage with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
“The Summit will feature a series of Ministerial Town Hall sessions, where participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with government leaders on critical issues such as education, technology, economic development, and institutional reforms, focusing on integrating actionable solutions into the administration’s policy frameworks,” he said.
Israel described the summit as a crucial step in ensuring that the voices of young Nigerians are not only heard but also play a vital role in shaping the nation’s development agenda.
He noted that President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima’s personal involvement underscores their unwavering commitment to youth inclusion and empowerment.
“By tapping into the passion and innovative spirit of young Nigerians, this Summit aims to shape a New Nigeria that truly reflects the aspirations of the next generation.
“We believe this event will inspire young people to take ownership of the Renewed Hope Agenda and work collectively towards its realization,” Israel said.
“This Summit is designed to ensure that young Nigerians are not just observers but active contributors to the formation of a new Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda. By the end of the Summit, it is expected that young leaders will be empowered to take concrete steps towards realizing the Nigeria of our dreams.
“We invite all young Nigerians to join us for this historic event. Register today at bit.ly/pylsummit2024 and be part of the movement shaping our collective future,” he added.
The summit is expected to be attended by over 3,000 participants from across the nation.
