2025 Lagos LG: Candidates begin credential verification at LASIEC

Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates from various political parties for the July 12 council elections in Lagos State have begun the presentation of their credentials for verification at the State’s Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) office in Yaba.

The exercise which started on Thursday would end on Monday.

Confirming the commencement of the exercise, the chairman of LASIEC, Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (retd.), said it would last for a few days as the state prepares for the July poll.

According to LASIEC, 15 political parties out of 19 would be participating in the election.

Some of the parties are; All Progressives Congress (APC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Accord Party (AP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), African Alliance Congress (AAC) and others.

The various political parties have also commenced election campaign across the state as they fielded candidates in the 375 Wards and 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas.
