2025 LG Polls: Lagos LP chieftain urges voters to reject “vote- buying”

A Chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) in Epe local government area of Lagos State, Dr. Abdulkareem Onakoya has called on the residents to reject vote-buying or any form of inducement and take a stand for accountable leadership at the July 12 council polls.
Onakoya, in a statement issued recently in Epe, called on the people of Epe to rise above political manipulation and support what he described as a “rescue team” committed to genuine grassroots development.
“The era of political complacency and deception must come to an end,” Onakoya stated.
“The ruling party may boast of financial strength, but we rely on the will and power of the people. We urge voters to carry that message to the polling booths.”
Onakoya appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and vote with conviction.
The Labour Party is fielding Hon. Tajudeen Obafemi as its chairmanship candidate for Epe Local Government, alongside his running team.
According to Onakoya, the campaign has centered on promises of transparent governance, youth empowerment, and infrastructural renewal across the region.
“The LP is positioning itself as a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which currently dominates the local political landscape”, said Onakoya.
