2025 LG Polls: Sanwo-Olu urges party members to intensify campaign

… charges chairmanship candidates to be fair if elected

The governor of Lagos state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to intensify campaign ahead of the July 12 council election, directing the candidates to reach out to the aggrieved aspirants so that they could work together to win the election.

Sanwo-Olu made the call on Tuesday at the Stakeholders’Special Engagement with Mr Governor held at the State House, Marina, Lagos Island.

The governor stated that all members of the party must take the council election as their own, saying that the APC has no reason to lose at the poll based on the performance of the government.

He directed the candidates to reach out to the aggrieved aspirants, saying that they should work together to win the election.

Sanwo-Olu urged the aggrieved members to bury their differences and work for the victory of the party.

” Let us go out enmass and canvass votes for our candidates in all local governments. Let’s go and knock doors of the electorates for votes. We need their votes.  Let’s forget our political differences. We can not hold same office same time. If you don’t get the ticket now, you may get it next time. To the candidates, four years is enough to perform”, said Sanwo-Olu.

Sanwo-Olu said the chairmen must give their vice chairmen due respect, saying that the Councillors must be allowed to function well to discharge their legislative responsibilities.

He said that every members of the party is a stakeholder, advising the candidates to be fair to everyone if elected.

Meanwhile, the Wife of the Lagos Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu while addressing the gathering, Wife of the Governor, urged the women to lend their voices to the growth and development the state and the local council.

She said, “The power of the women is in her voice. We have use it constructively for the development of the society. The objective of this parley is to improve on our state. Go into the society, the nooks and crannies of the community and mobilise for the party to ensure victory for the party.”
