Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said the 2025 South West Games will serve as a platform for social inclusion, youth engagement, healthy competition, and the development of creative minds.
Sanwo-Olu made this statement on Friday when the South West Games 2025 Committee, led by its President, Dr. Olanrewaju Alfred, paid him a courtesy visit and presented a customized jersey at the Lagos House, Marina.
He reaffirmed Lagos State’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for youth development, using sports as a tool to build sound minds and promote community inclusion.
The governor commended the organizers of the event and assured them of the state government’s support for the tournament, which is scheduled to take place from March 26 to 28 at four venues: Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Teslim Balogun Stadium, and Rowe Park.
Speaking earlier, Dr. Alfred expressed gratitude to the governor for his inspirational leadership, noting that the inaugural South West Games would serve as a vehicle for youth motivation, empowerment, and development.
