2026: AMBO Media dismisses report of clash with Babayemi’s supporters
By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Media Fronts has denied reports alleging that members of the AMBO Movement clashed with supporters of Omooba Dotun Babayemi’s Ireti Osun 2026 group in Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government Area of the state, describing the story as false and malicious.
In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Adebayo Adedeji, the group said at no time did AMBO supporters engage in any confrontation, either verbal or physical, with members of the Babayemi group during its statewide consultation tour.
Adedeji stated that the AMBO consultation tour across the 30 local government areas of Osun State ended peacefully and was warmly received everywhere, noting that “the report is purely a figment of the imagination of its author and the discredited purveyors of such malicious misinformation.”
The group accused political opponents of orchestrating the falsehood to create a fake impression of division within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Adedeji said, “It is evident from the tone and content of the false report that the hollow minds jittery about losing control of the hallowed office to the APC in 2026 are behind this evil and baseless fabrication—an attempt to create a false impression of division within the Osun APC.
“We remain one united family in the party, committed to sending the political philistines out of government next year and ensuring a resounding re-election victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.”
He also described the recently concluded consultation tour as an eye-opener that reflected the people’s growing desire to return the APC to power, adding that “the people can no longer tolerate the current disoriented, dispirited, and unproductive handlers of statecraft who sacked 1,500 teachers, collected recruitment fees from over 32,000 job applicants, and have failed to employ even one person in the last 35 months.”
The AMBO Movement re-emphasized that, over time, it has conducted its engagements with utmost decency and peace and remains committed to sustaining the Omoluabi ethos until the current government in Abere is sent packing next year.
