2027: Atiku Abubakar welcomes Peter Obi to Adamawa home
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election has welcomed former Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the same election, Peter Obi, to his Yola, Adamawa State residence.
Obi, who is former governor of Anambra State, visited Atiku in his residence over the weekend.
The duo, according to sources, discussed the matter of 2027 election during the visit.
WESTERN POST learnt the visit came as a build-up in plans by the duo to work together in the 2027 presidential election.
With the opposition PDP badly fractured and Obi’s Labour Party battling leadership crisis where Obi is opposed to Chairman Abure, sources said a new party is being planned by the two leaders.
Many analysts had stated that the fallout of the two, which necessitated Obi who was running mate to Atiku in the 2019 election, moving over to LP had paved the grounds for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s election in February 2023.
It is not clear yet whether Atiku and Obi will get their acts together and work as team in 2027.
