2027: Group projects APC 19 states, NDC 10, ADC 8 in October electoral map

The October electoral projection by political intelligence group, Politico.ng, has projected the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to win 19 states in the 2027 elections, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) 10 states and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) eight states.
Presenting the projection to journalists on Friday in Lagos, the group’s leader, Lai Omotola, said the monthly electoral map showed where parties were gaining or losing ground and should not be interpreted as a prediction of the final results.
According to him, it reflected what the outcome could be if the election were held in the month under review, based on political developments during that period.
Explaining the changes from September, Omotola said the APC fell from 20 projected states to 19 after losing Rivers State but gaining Adamawa State.
“The ADC, which was projected to control nine states in September, also lost Adamawa to the APC, reducing its October projection to eight states,” he said.
He attributed the changes to September political developments, including campaign mobilisation by major parties and controversies involving leading opposition figures.
Omotola cautioned that the October map was not the final outcome of the 2027 presidential election, stressing that it assumed a free and fair election.
He said the monthly exercise was intended to show parties their areas of strength and weakness as they intensified their campaigns.
