Dr Gbenga Hashim, a presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified internal consultations within the party following a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde in Abuja, signalling early strategic moves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, described by sources as substantive and forward-looking, focused on fostering unity within the PDP and strengthening its role in Nigeria’s multi-party democracy.
Emphasizing the importance of dialogue, Dr. Hashim noted that his consultation aims at building common ground among party stakeholders, especially given the party’s ongoing efforts to manage internal divisions.
“Governor Makinde and I had a productive discussion on how the PDP can work together more effectively and position itself to offer credible national leadership. Unity remains central to the party’s success,” Hashim said.
According to reliable sources, the discussions also covered sensitive issues such as coordination among different factions, leadership direction, and strategies to expand regional support ahead of the 2027 elections.
