A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Ajisafe Fisayo, has resigned his membership of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fisayo, who hails from Ikota, tendered his resignation in a letter addressed to the PDP Ward chairman of Ekanfa Ward, declaring that his decision took immediate effect.
The resignation letter was endorsed by the ward chairman, confirming that it was received and accepted on July 22, 2026.
Fisayo said he arrived at the decision after “careful personal consideration,” adding that he wanted his name removed from the party’s membership register.
Although the exact reason for his resignation was not disclosed, the development comes amid political realignments in Ondo.
The former PDP member expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for the opportunity to contribute to its activities during his membership.
He also thanked the party for the support and cooperation he received, as well as the experience he gained while working with its members.
Fisayo further wished the PDP success in its future engagements, while his reported move to the All Progressives Congress signals another political realignment in Ondo State ahead of 2027.
