2027: Tinubu will win again, opposition coalition a waste of time-Lagos Lawmaker

The Deputy Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Setonji David, has said that opposition alliances being formed across different political platforms will not succeed in stopping the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.

David expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure a second term in office, noting that Nigerians understand the direction in which the president is steering the country.

The lawmaker, who represents Badagry Constituency II, made the remarks during a media interview on Sunday in Lagos.

According to him, no political observer or Nigerian should doubt Tinubu’s chances of re-election, insisting that any attempt by opposition groups to challenge it would amount to a waste of time and resources.

“No political watcher or Nigerian should doubt the second term of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is a done deal. He will remain the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for a second term beginning in 2027. Nobody should think otherwise,” the lawmaker said.

David added that the only prayer of supporters is for God to grant the president the strength and wisdom needed to continue the work he has begun in repositioning the country.

He noted that Tinubu has demonstrated courage and determination in addressing long-standing challenges confronting Nigeria.

“He is doing excellently well. We have never had a president with this level of courage to implement the reforms we are witnessing today. He has taken bold steps many leaders before him avoided, and those reforms are laying a solid foundation for a better Nigeria,” David said.

According to the lawmaker, Nigeria is gradually returning to the path of growth and stability.
