2027: We’ll campaign on Tinubu’s record, not insults — Yari

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, has said the party will focus on President Bola Tinubu’s achievements rather than insults and personal attacks in its campaign for the 2027 election.

Yari stated this on Tuesday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja alongside APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda to brief the president on preparations for the party’s presidential campaign.

The former Zamfara State governor said the campaign council was committed to conducting a responsible, issue-based campaign that would allow Nigerians to assess the performance of the APC-led administration.

“As a council, what we say we are going to do? We are going to do a campaign with the records. A responsible campaign, no insults, no calling of names because there’s no name before us, but we have a record before us to show to Nigerians,” he said.

Yari said the party would present the policies, programmes and achievements of the Tinubu administration as the basis for seeking another mandate.

He urged Nigerians to evaluate the government’s performance and support its continuation if convinced by its record.

“This is what our party did, this is what our government did, so because of that, we are asking, pleading Nigerians to look at this record carefully so that they give us a second chance for continuity,” he added.

Yari’s remarks come as the APC prepares to formally flag off its nationwide presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday, October 24.
