21 Super Falcons ready for Comoros Olympic qualifying clash

Super Falcons’ camp has swelled to 21 players ahead of Friday’s 2028 Olympic Games qualifying clash with Comoros.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Michelle Alozie, Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echegini, Folashade Ijamilusi and Janet Akekoromowei are among the latest arrivals, with five more players expected.

The first leg, originally billed for Comoros, will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, from 6pm on Friday.

Rwandan referee Henriette Byukusenge will officiate the encounter, assisted by compatriots Sandrine Murangwa, Regine Mukayiranga and Aline Umutoni.

Namibia’s Fransiska Katjaimo is the referee assessor, while Burkina Faso’s Oumou Sy will serve as match commissioner.

The Comoros team arrived in Ijebu-Ode on Monday night and were scheduled to train in Ikenne-Remo on Tuesday evening.

Goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Comfort Erhabor, as well as forwards Gift Monday, Joy Omewa and Uchenna Kanu, were still expected in the Falcons’ camp as of Tuesday.
