234 new police constables graduate from Police Training School in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has announced the graduation of 234 newly trained police constables from the Police Training School in Oyin Akoko after completing six months of intensive physical and intellectual training.

The graduation ceremony, held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, featured a parade review, a march-past, and the presentation of awards to outstanding recruits.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, represented by Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Zone 17, Abiodun Asabi, charged the new constables to prioritize professionalism, integrity, and dedication in their service to the nation. He emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and maintaining ethical standards as the foundation of effective policing.

“Your responsibilities as police officers are critical to the stability and security of our communities. Adhere strictly to the rule of law and ethical conduct in all you do,” AIG Asabi stated.

The Commandant of the Police Training School, Assistant Commissioner of Police Rafiu Adebayo, urged the graduates to serve as exemplary ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force. He highlighted the value of community policing as a global best practice and advised the officers to shun corruption and remain upright in their duties.

In attendance at the event were the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Wilfred Afolabi (psc+, mnips), and Mr. Olumide, Director of Recruitment for the Police Service Commission, who represented the Commission’s Chairman. Other dignitaries and family members of the graduating officers also graced the occasion.
