3 abducted Unical students regain freedom

Three abducted University of Calabar (UNICAL) students have been freed from the grip of kidnappers after nearly a fortnight in captivity.
Damilola Dickson, Ugwu Chukwuemeka, along with another student, were taken weeks ago, with captors demanding a ransom of N14 million.
A report from a fellow student on the microblogging platform X confirmed their release to their families. Though the details of their freedom are unclear, @Anarii6 has verified the liberation of her UNICAL peers.
Sharing a picture of two of the freed students, she wrote, “My coursemate and the others were released today! Thank you Jesus!!”
Also, a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the school, Effiong Eyo, said the students were released unharmed and have been reunited with their parents.
Eyo said the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Obi, who received the students in her office, thanked security agencies in the state for their collaboration and sustained efforts that led to the release of the students.
