3SC need overhauling, late Rashidi Yekini’s lawyer tells management

By Bode Akinode, Ibadan
Lawyer to the late Nigeria all time highest goal scorer Rashidi Yekini, Barrister Jubril Mohammed Olanrewaju has advised the management of Shooting Stars Football Club (3SC) to overhaul the team for better results.
Speaking in Ibadan in reaction to the not too impressive results being churned out by the team fondly called Oluyole Warriors, Olanrewaju stated that the overhauling was long overdue and necessary for improved results.
He said that this also applies to the technical crew which he pointed out is not good enough for the 1975 African Cup Winners Cup champion.
He also berated some fans of the team, whose behavior led the team almost being banished from playing their matches in Oyo State.
“The fans did not know the implication of their actions hence the reason they did what they did when they allegedly assaulted a journalist from Lagos who came to cover the ill-fated match versus visiting Remo Stars Football Club at the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium which led to the spectators ban and a suspended three points deduction.
“In football you win some, you lose some. You do not win all the time, after all, Shooting Stars have had two away wins and three draws and nothing bad happened to them as they were not attacked,” Olanrewaju said.
He observed that the attitude of the fans would have caused the team’s banishment which could have seen them playing outside the south west.
“LMC was lenient and mild otherwise they would have been playing somewhere very far from Ibadan maybe in Kano, Maiduguri and that would have been disastrous for their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) survival.
“I would advise the fans to always be calm anytime results are not in their favour,” he added.
