Former Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Bukola Olopade, has empowered over 195 market women, artisans, aged and youth through his movement tagged “Bukola Olawale Olopade Movement for Dapo Abiodun for second term” (BOOM4DA2) with cash award.

Speaking with journalists at the event held at Fajol House, Adatan in Abeokuta, Olapade who was represented by his wife, Mrs. Yetunde Olopade said the empowerment programme was aimed at impacting over 100 lives with N10,000 cash, adding that 95 non-member beneficiaries were selected from various wards and markets in Abeokuta South Local Government.

He said this would be the third year that the empowerment would be carried out by BOOM movement, pointing out that his intention is to continue the programme on quarterly basis.

He added that since the programme started, over 1000 lives have been impacted positively.

He said the gesture of N10,000 to beneficiaries was to take care of their welfare, improve on their small scale businesses as well as make the aged among them feel they are not neglected in the running of the BOOM movement.

” My vision is to impact lives, do the little I can to make people around me happy and as well as improve on their small scale businesses and not only that the movement also takes care of the aged people for them not to feel neglected in the activities of BOOM4DA2,” Olopade said.

He said that his empowerment programme has nothing to do with his political ambition, saying that he is not contesting for any political office.
