More than 50,000 individuals in Osun State have undergone free surgeries and received medical care through the State Government’s Imole free surgical and medical outreach program since its inception.
Governor Ademola Adeleke disclosed this on Tuesday at the opening ceremony/flag-off of the 4th edition of the Imole Free Surgical and Medical Outreach.
Adeleke stated that restoring healthy living is one of the five-point agenda of his administration, noting that despite economic challenges, his administration is committed to delivering on this promise and are pursuing the goal with determination and focus.
He said that the outreach program has provided life-changing care to people, many of who could not afford treatment and lived with their conditions for years.
According to the Governor, “This initiative has become a lifeline for the masses. It provides fast and accessible medical and surgical care to those in need. Public feedback shows that people eagerly await each new round of this programme. In the last two years, we have achieved remarkable milestones in the health sector. We have strengthened primary healthcare, which is closest to the people. Over 200 primary health centers have been upgraded with 24-hour power and water supply.”
Adeleke appreciated the health workforce in the State for their dedication, assuring them of Government continued support.
