60th birthday: Ekere, a man of great impact, achievements – Akwa Ibom Gov

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has described a former Deputy Governor of the state, Obong Nsima Ekere, as a man who has made quality and sustainable impacts in the lives of the people, and the growth of society.

Speaking as a special guest during the 60th birthday celebration of Obong Nsima Ekere in Uyo, the governor said Obong Ekere has made incredible marks on his profession and society.

“I came to celebrate a man who has made his mark, not only in Akwa Ibom State but in the nation, and indeed globally.

“Therefore, on behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, we join your family, friends and associates to wish you a very happy 60th birthday.”

Eno appreciated Obong Ekere for using his birthday celebration to draw sports tourists to the state.

“This weekend, you have put Akwa Ibom again on a spotlight, bringing golfers around the world to gather in the State, promoting our tourism potentials that we so desire to market. That’s who you are, and we thank you so much. As we gather here to celebrate you, let me wish you more robust health, blessings of indescribable proportions, and a deeper sense of discernment, so that you’ll continue to serve God and humanity.”

The governor further commended him for his remarkable support to the government, and described him as a man with a large heart, given his patriotic stands on the progress and development of the State.

On his part, Obong Ekere expressed gratitude to God for always being there for him despite the challenges of life.

He appreciated the governor for his exemplary sense of brotherhood, as well as his visionary and pragmatic leadership style especially by ensuring there is peace and unity among the people of the State.
