JUST IN: Tinubu’s ADC appointed as new king in Kwara

President Bola Tinubu’s Aide-de-camp (ADC), Lt. Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, has been named the new king of Ilemona Town in Kwara State.

It is anticipated that in his new capacity as Ilemona Town’s king, he will use his skills and leadership to promote growth and harmony within the town.

Lt. Col. Yusuf, the incoming king, will take charge of Ilemona Town’s customs and administrative matters, carrying on the heritage of his forebears and promoting the town’s prosperity in the process.

The late Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, the Elemona of Ilemona in the Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, is the father of Yusuf.

Yusuf enrolled at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on electrical and electronics.

He studied at the United Kingdom’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) from 2004 to 2005 and at the Nigerian Army Intelligence School in Lagos in 2006.

Yusuf graduated with a postgraduate diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University (NOUN) and a master’s degree in Defence Studies from Kings College, London in 2018.

Yusuf worked with the 119 Intelligence Group in Lagos as an officer in charge (technical). After that, he worked at the HQ 4 Brigade in Benin as Operations Officer.

In 2015, he was elevated to Officer Commanding, Presidential Body Guard, State House, Abuja, after having previously served as Officer Commanding at the State House Military Intelligence Group.

Yusuf was a Staff Officer Grade 1 for the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corp (NAIC) in the Nigerian Army in 2017.

Yusuf worked as a DDA Librarian at the Nigerian Defence Section in Paris, France from 2020 to 2022. Before being named President Tinubu’s ADC, he was a Staff Officer at Headquarters, NAIC, Abuja.
