The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, on Tuesday paraded 12 suspects picked up during recent operations across the state.

The suspects were showcased at the Corps headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure.

Amotekun commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said the arrests were made through the ongoing Operation Le Won Jade border patrol and intensified ember-month activities aimed at curbing crime.

“We are parading 12 suspects arrested in various parts of the state. Under breaking of law and order, we have nine; one was apprehended for an anti-grazing-related farmers’ clash, and two suspects were arrested for kidnapping,” Adeleye said.

He explained that the kidnap suspects include 22-year-old Usman, arrested during a kidnap attempt along Ijoka Road, Akure, and 25-year-old Abdullahi, apprehended at Ago Aduloju Camp, Ugbe, in Akoko.

The commander added that two teenagers, Odule and Temidayo, both 19, were arrested in Okitipupa for alleged armed robbery and conspiracy during the raid.

Adeleye said another suspect, Mohammed, aged 30, was picked up at Ala in Akure North by operatives on anti-grazing duty, while several others were arrested for burglary and conspiracy in Akure North.

He noted a decline in kidnap-related arrests in the past week and commended residents and sister security agencies for sharing timely intelligence that has continued to strengthen security across the state.
