Portable criticises Iyabo Ojo’s stance on single motherhood

By Tosin Brown –

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has criticised the celebration of single motherhood, reacting to comments made by Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo.

Portable weighed in on Ojo’s submission in a series of Instagram posts, dismissing her claims and insisting that married women are the ones who achieve true success.

He argued that glorifying single motherhood sends a harmful message to younger women about relationships and family planning, urging Ojo to lead by good example.

Speaking directly on the issue, Portable said women who are married are the truly successful ones, rejecting the claim that single mothers are more successful.

He further questioned the kind of advice being given to younger women, suggesting that promoting single motherhood encourages having children by different men.

The Zazzu star also criticised Ojo for calling herself “Queen Mother”, insisting that a woman who is not in her husband’s home cannot hold such a title.

Earlier, in a widely circulated video, Ojo had declared that the stigma once attached to single mothers is now a thing of the past.

She argued that single mothers are thriving and highly sought after, adding that men now pursue and even plead with single mothers to marry them.
