The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four additional suspects linked to a motorcycle theft syndicate and recovered a TVS motorcycle, following earlier interceptions made in December 2025.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday morning by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal.
According to the command, the latest arrests followed intelligence-led operations that tracked fleeing members of the syndicate to Edo State, leading to the apprehension of Onyeka, Ekene, Sunday and Abubakar.
Police sources said the suspects confessed to their respective roles in the theft ring during interrogation and would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
Commending the operatives, the Commissioner of Police said, “The professional, swift and decisive response of our officers reflects the command’s strengthened capacity for crime-fighting and effective intervention.”
He added, “The Ondo State Police Command remains unwavering in its commitment to the protection of lives and property. Criminals should think twice, as we will track them down wherever they operate and bring them to justice.”
The commissioner also directed all Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders to remain on high alert to ensure effective security coverage across the state.
The command appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his support and reforms, and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
