Ramadan Message: Adebayo calls for justice, compassion, national renewal

… Rolls out massive food support for families in northern states

The 2023 presidential candidate and leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has extended Ramadan greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and worldwide, praying for Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and guidance upon the nation.

In a message marking the holy month, Adebayo described Ramadan as “a divine appointment with our Creator,” a sacred period of fasting (sawm), night prayers (qiyam), remembrance (dhikr), and reflection on the Qur’an.

He emphasized that Ramadan is more than abstaining from food and drink, calling it a spiritual journey toward God-consciousness (taqwa), self-purification, and renewed obedience to Allah.

According to him, the values of patience, self-restraint, generosity, justice, and compassion promoted during Ramadan are essential to restoring righteousness and harmony in Nigeria. He noted that leadership is a sacred trust and service to humanity an act of worship.

Adebayo urged Nigerians to use the month to pray for peace, security, prosperity, and righteous leadership, asking Allah to grant the country leaders who uphold justice and serve with sincerity.

He also prayed for the acceptance of fasting, forgiveness of shortcomings, healing for the sick, relief for the distressed, and blessings for every household.

As part of his Ramadan outreach, Adebayo has commenced the distribution of 18,000 relief packages, including rice, to vulnerable families across Adamawa, Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi states.

The initiative, coordinated by the Directorate of Special Operations under Ambassador Lawan Uba, also includes Tafsir sessions to deepen understanding of the Qur’an, with Uba stating that the effort reflects a commitment to compassion, unity, and service beyond political or ethnic lines.
