Primary Elections: Members can vote without proof of dues payment, APC clarifies

The All Progressives Congress has clarified that party members do not need to show proof of payment of membership dues before voting in the ongoing primary elections.
In a statement on Saturday signed by Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary said anyone who is already officially registered as a member of the APC can vote in the ongoing primary elections.
“There is no requirement for Party members to show proof of payment of APC membership dues in order to vote in the ongoing Primary Elections. All duly registered members of the Party are entitled to participate in the exercise.”
It further explained that the dues requirement applies only to aspirants and their nominators during the nomination and screening stages. The statement added: “For the avoidance of doubt, the requirement to show proof of payment of APC membership dues was applicable only to aspirants and their nominators during the submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms as well as during the screening exercise.”
The party urged members and stakeholders to ignore contrary claims and ensure smooth participation in the process, stating: “The Party urges members and stakeholders to disregard any contrary information, and enable all duly registered party members to participate peacefully in the ongoing primary elections without hindrance.”
