BREAKING: JAMB releases 279 previously withheld UTME results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were earlier withheld over suspected examination malpractice.
The board disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, noting that the released results followed ongoing investigations into cases of alleged malpractice during the examination.
JAMB explained that while some results were released after no prima facie case was established against the affected candidates, others had been cancelled where evidence of malpractice was confirmed.
“Candidates whose results have not yet been released are advised to check their status by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used for registration to view their released results,” the board stated.
The examination body added that results from centres where suspicious activities were observed by its monitoring team, or where adverse reports were received, would remain withheld pending further investigations.
It noted that where sufficient evidence of culpability is eventually established, such results would be cancelled.
