Imo has become a one-party state under APC, says Uzodimma

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly established itself as the dominant political force in the state, attributing the development to the performance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and his own government.
Uzodimma spoke in Owerri while hosting members of the Presidential Media Tour, where he declared that Imo residents had already resolved to support President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“Our people have already decided that they want President Bola Ahmed Tinubu back as president because without him and his policies and programmes, this environment we are enjoying today would have been impossible to achieve,” the governor said.
He urged members of the media tour to showcase the administration’s achievements in Imo and other APC-controlled states.
“Discuss with us and also move from here to other states because I am almost certain that many APC governors in Nigeria are working so hard, deploying the additional revenue that has accrued,” he said.
Earlier, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said the APC’s growing control of states across the country reflected public confidence in the ruling party.
“I want to thank you for your leadership. We know where we were in terms of the number of governors about a year ago. Now, under your leadership and the overall leadership of President Bola Tinubu, we are looking at 32 APC governors, and we’re still counting because elections are still a few months away,” Dare said.
He described the increasing number of APC governors as “a clear validation” of the party’s progressive agenda and commended governors for delivering projects in their states.
