Kanayo, Suleman question Arome Osayi’s claims of visiting heaven

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, popularly known as KOK, and cleric Apostle Johnson Suleman have questioned claims by Pastor Arome Osayi that he has visited heaven on different occasions.
Osayi, founder of Remnant Christian Network (RCN), reportedly said his first visit to heaven occurred when he was about 12 or 13 years old. He claimed he stood on a mountain and watched people walking towards hell, an experience he said helped shape his call to ministry.
Another video of the cleric resurfaced in which he addressed a congregation and shared spiritual testimonies, including claims of seeing biblical figures such as King David and Apostle Paul. He also said he frequently experienced visions.
A compilation of the videos attracted public criticism and sparked debate over Osayi’s claims. While some argued that spiritual encounters could not be fully explained in human terms, others questioned the veracity of his accounts.
Reacting to the controversy, Kanayo took to his Instagram page on Monday to question the claims, comparing them with the biblical account of Jesus Christ’s ascension into heaven. He also criticised members of Osayi’s congregation for believing and supporting the cleric.
“What is happening to the body of Christ? If you’re a follower of Christ, what happened to Jesus? He died and ascended into heaven. Pastor Arome is still alive and telling you people that he went to heaven, and then his members are there clapping. Many are going to hell with their eyes open,” he said.
Kanayo urged Africans, particularly Nigerians, to be mindful of whom they listen to, describing the claims as “highly embarrassing to the body of Christ”. He clarified that his comments should not be regarded as an attack on Christianity but as a wake-up call. “A lot of lies are being told. People must be mindful of what they say as a doctrine,” he added.
Suleman also questioned Osayi’s claims in a viral video in which he addressed the issue before his congregation. He expressed surprise at the claims, stressing that such an occurrence was highly unlikely.
