The Lagos APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Council has mourned the death of Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, describing the late Yoruba elder statesman as a symbol of principled leadership and Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
In a condolence statement issued on Wednesday by the Council’s Director of Information and Communication, Seye Oladejo, the council said Fasoranti’s death marked the end of a significant chapter in Yoruba socio-political history.
The council lauded his contributions to progressive politics, educational development, social welfare and democratic governance, noting that his commitment to justice and public service transcended partisan interests.
It also highlighted his leadership role in Afenifere and his association with the progressive ideals of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, stressing that his legacy remained relevant to Nigeria’s quest for responsible leadership, equity and national unity.
The council extended its condolences to the Fasoranti family, Afenifere, the government and people of Ondo State, the Yoruba nation and other Nigerians mourning his death.
It prayed for comfort for the bereaved family and described Fasoranti’s contributions to Nigeria’s political development as enduring.
