The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has issued a final notice to graduands and alumni with unclaimed certificates, directing them to collect the documents on or before December 31, 2026.
The notice, signed by the Deputy Registrar, Examinations and Records Division, Saka Ibrahim Eletu, on behalf of the acting registrar, said many certificates belonging to former students who had completed their programmes remained uncollected for several years.
According to the statement, the certificates are essential for employment, further studies, professional advancement and other official engagements. It, therefore, urged all affected graduands and alumni to take advantage of the grace period to retrieve their documents.
The polytechnic said the certificates available for collection include Diploma, Higher Diploma, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) certificates.
It added that all certificates were ready for collection at the Examinations and Records Division during official working hours.
However, the management announced that any certificate remaining unclaimed from January 1, 2027, would attract a demurrage charge of ₦2,000 per month.
To collect their certificates, affected graduands and alumni are required to present their original statements of result, valid means of identification and evidence of payment for the certificates.
The polytechnic advised those seeking further information to contact the institution via WhatsApp on 08168515577 or 08069505277, urging them to meet the December 31 deadline to avoid the additional charges.
