Supreme Court introduces online enrollment before Call to Bar

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has introduced a new online enrollment system for Nigerian law school graduates who pass the bar exam.

According to the official notice,  before their official Call to Bar ceremony, registration on the portal, https://lawyerenrollment.com.ng/home/, is now mandatory for all candidates who complete the Nigerian Law School program and become qualified barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The initiative intends to expedite the acquisition of certificates and enrollment numbers, which are necessary to practice law formally in Nigeria.

By putting this system in place, the Supreme Court said it hopes to improve the efficiency and convenience of the post-ceremony procedure by reducing crowds and delays for the new attorneys. The Law School has made it clear that for graduates to receive their Supreme Court enrollment numbers and be authorized to practice law in Nigeria, they must enrol on the portal.

The online enrollment system is a significant step towards modernizing the administrative procedures of the legal profession in Nigeria. It guarantees a more precise and safe record-keeping system while saving time and resources for Supreme Court employees and graduates.
