AbdulRazaq joins Sanwo-Olu to commission Ikeja flyover

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State joined his Lagos counterpart, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in commissioning the Ikeja flyover bridge on Tuesday
The bridge, which spans 620 meters in a T-shape, is part of the Red Line corridor project that aims to improve the transport system in Lagos.
The Ikeja flyover bridge is the fourth of its kind to be completed by the Lagos state government in the last two months. It is expected to ease the traffic flow on the Obafemi Awolowo Way, the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, and the Old Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway.
Sanwo-Olu said the bridge would not only save time for commuters and motorists, but also transform the state into a modern megacity.
He reaffirmed his commitment to partner with private sector initiatives to provide a safe, seamless, and secure transport system for Lagosians. He also urged the public not to use the bridge as a bus station or a market place.
AbdulRazaq who is also the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum praised the Lagos state government for its visionary leadership and its focus on national development. He said the bridge was a testament to the benefits of collaboration and cooperation among states.
Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, advised the public to follow the traffic rules and regulations on the bridge. He also warned that hawking, selling, and riding bikes on the bridge were prohibited.
