Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday held a strategic meeting with first-class traditional rulers in the state to deliberate on key issues, including security and socioeconomic development.

The meeting focused on enhancing the safety of lives and property, as well as deepening development efforts across the state.

The Governor said the state is adopting a multi-agency approach to strengthen security and curb the activities of cross-border non-state actors fleeing military operations in areas such as the Kainji National Park.

He noted that the government has approved greater involvement of local stakeholders in grassroots security operations.

“We thank you for what you have been doing, and we need Your Royal Highnesses to speak to our people about the collective responsibility to protect our communities from infiltration,” AbdulRazaq said.

He urged traditional rulers to encourage community members to support security agencies with actionable intelligence to help prevent crime.

Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs and Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, commended the Governor for the detailed engagement and reassured him of their continued support.

“We will always support your administration, as you are doing a good job,” the Etsu said.
