Abiodun assures Ogun monarchs of continued support for traditional institution

The governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured the traditional rulers of the government’s continued support for traditional institutions, urging the monarchs to maintain collaboration by offering constructive input towards effective governance.

Abiodun gave this assurance through his Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Ganiyu Hamzat, at the Ogun State Council of Obas Statutory Meeting held at the Obas Complex, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The governor reiterated the vital role of the Council in the state’s governance structure.

Meanwhile, the Olu Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, HRM Kehinde Olugbenle, who presided over Statutory Meeting commended the governor for his consistent support and efforts in strengthening the Council.

The monarch, on behalf of the Council, offered royal blessings to the governor as he continued to lead the State.

Prior to the commencement of the Statutory Meeting, the Paramount Rulers in the state, Oba (Dr) Adedotun Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, and Oba (Dr) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland held a brief meeting with the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs.

However, the main session of the Statutory Meeting was held behind closed-door by Council members and ministry officials.
