Abiru wins 2024 Outstanding Policy Maker Award
In recognition of his remarkable achievements, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, has won the 2024 Outstanding Policy Maker Award.
The award ceremony was organised by the Democracy Heroes Award Africa.
Abiru emerged winner after polling 3,448 votes from constituents who believed he had performed creditably well.
The organisers of the award described the process as a “tedious well monitored voting process conducted by our accredited audit committee”.
The event which was held at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, attracted many eminent Nigerians, including serving state governors, top government functionaries and business leaders who were recipients of various categories of award.
Abiru is a distinguished Nigerian public servant, accomplished banker, and chartered accountant, currently serving as the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the 10th Nigerian National Assembly.
He presently chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions. He was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries in the 9th National Assembly. He is also the Chairman, Southern Senators’ Forum. His approach to his duties and responsibilities as a Senator is built on three fundamental pillars: Legislative, Empowerment, and Endowment.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, Galaxy Backbone(BB) Limited, Hon Olusegun Olulade, the Special Assistant to the Senator, Mr. Dele Abiru and the APC Youth Leader in Lagos State, Dr. Muritala Seriki received the award on behalf of the Senator.
