Actress Dakore denies alleged romance with Akpabio, threatens lawsuit

Nigerian celebrated actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande has vehemently denied rumors of an affair with the Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio.
In a viral video, Dakore refuted the allegations, stating she has never met the Senate President, either in person or otherwise.
These denials follow a controversial blog’s claim that she is among female celebrities romantically involved with Akpabio.
The actress described the allegations as a “very wicked lie,” threatening legal action against the blog for attempting to tarnish her reputation.
“I saw calls and text messages this morning, alerting me to a very wicked lie from the pit of hell. I must say that I am very disappointed, I am very shocked, I am appalled and I want to categorically state that I have never, ever in my life, met the Senate President,” she stated.
“I have not had any cause to see him or be in the same room with him, not to talk of being his side chick. I am happily married, I have two beautiful children… so for a blogger, a jobless wicked blogger to decide to put my name amongst women who have been with this man, is totally wicked and unfounded.
“It is a lie from the pit of hell and I am ready for any legal action because at this point, you have messed with the wrong person. I keep to myself, I mind my business, I drink water, and I do my work. So for someone to want to tarnish my hard-earned name and image for some clicks, no way.
“Because I have worked too hard for my name and reputation for someone to just wake up one morning and want to cause wahala in my life. I reject it and I categorically stand against it.”
After a 24-hour notice, Dakore, through her lawyers, Olivia Agbakoba Chambers, issued a cease and desist letter to the controversial blog, demanding it remove the story and her picture.
The mother of two also promised to give N5 million to anyone who could provide evidence of her alleged affair with Akpabio.
“I am not going to stand for it, I am not going to accept it, and I am not going to be quiet about it. I want to put it out there: anyone who can say I have been with this man and you have hard evidence, video, or audio, I will give you N5 million right now,” she declared.
