Actress Fathia Williams lays mother to rest

Veteran Nollywood actress, Fathia Williams, has payed her final tributes to her mother, Mrs Gloria Uzoamaka Williams, on Saturday, during her interment and lying-in-state programme, at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Family, Friends and wellshers bid their final farewell to the 78 years woman, following her wake keeping programme, which held on Friday, 6th March, 2026.

It was an emotional moment for Fathia, as she buried her mother, amidst prayers and tributes. Viral clips from the event captured the actress in tears, as friends and family tried to comfort her.

The ceremony which was strictly for close friends and relatives, is to be immediately followed by a thanksgiving programme on Sunday at St. Monica Catholic Church, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The actress had earlier announced that the final burial ceremony, that will accommodate all and sundry, will be communicated later to the public.

Fathia had earlier announced the passing of her mother, who died on the eve of her birthday party on February 7th, 2026, after a brief illness.
