Actress Mo Bimpe advocates support for women trying to conceive

Nollywood actress Adebimpe Oyemade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, has urged the public not to ostracise women who are trying to conceive, stressing that women without children deserve inclusion, love and genuine friendship.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday, the actress said she was moved to reflect on her experience after attending the birthday party of Priscilla Ojo’s son, Rakeem Mkambala’s, recalling that she was once excluded from social gatherings because she was not yet a mother.

Recounting her experience during that period, Mo Bimpe said some people deliberately stopped inviting her to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthday parties and other celebrations involving children because she had no child.

The actress said she loved children and was always willing to share in their special moments during celebrations, adding that it became more painful when she discovered that some people had deliberately excluded her because she did not have children.

“Few months ago, I would never have imagined writing this. Last night, as I returned home from celebrating baby Rakeem, I got emotional. Not because of the party itself, but because it reminded me of a difficult season. There was a time when I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids,” she recounted.

Mo Bimpe, who recently welcomed triplets after years of waiting, said some of those who excluded her were people she knew personally and cared about, making the experience particularly painful.

She urged women who may be facing challenges with conception to remain hopeful, while calling on the public to show them love and make them feel included during what can be a difficult period.

“What many people don’t realise is that struggling to conceive is already hard enough. The waiting is hard. The questions are hard. The insults are hard. The silent prayers are hard. Please don’t make it harder by excluding people,” she added.
