ADC Cross River chapter warns against unauthorized meeting by Imoke, Usani

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Cross River State has cautioned its members to ignore a meeting reportedly scheduled by former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru Usani, at the residence of former Governor Liyel Imoke.

In a statement on Sunday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, James Otudor, said Usani does not have the authority to convene any ADC meeting, noting that he is currently serving a three-month suspension as National Vice Chairman (South-South).

Otudor also highlighted that both Usani and Imoke have yet to formally resign from their previous political parties, raising doubts over their participation in any ADC activities. The statement stressed that official party meetings cannot be held in private residences and that such gatherings would be considered invalid.

“Meetings held in private homes under the name of ADC are invalid. Anyone wishing to join or participate in ADC activities must go through the official registration process,” Otudor said, describing Usani’s actions as anti-party and cautioning against “backdoor manoeuvres.”

While Imoke has not commented on the planned meeting, Usani earlier dismissed the suspension, insisting he remains the party’s National Vice Chairman (South-South).

The ADC urged members to ignore all unauthorised meetings and adhere to proper party channels for engagement.
