Adebutu, Akinlade missing as INEC releases names of candidates for Ogun governorship election

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu and his deputy, Adekunle Akinlade have failed to make the list as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published details of 16 political parties’ flag bearers and running mates qualified to contest the 2023 governorship election in Ogun State.
Their names may have been struck out arising from a recent court judgement which declared illegal, the primary election that produced Adebutu’s candidature.

According to a list obtained by our correspondent, 13 political parties will vie for the number one seat in the state.
The incumbent Governor, Prince Adedapo Abiodun, who is seeking re-election will fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while a former Commissioner for Environment during the Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s administration, Anthony Ojesina is the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Other candidates for the governorship election include; Okusanya Adedeji for People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Olabiyi Otegbeye, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Harrison Adeyemi is of the AAC, Falana Olufemi is the candidate of APP, while ADP will field Sokunbi Kazeem.
The rest are; Adebisi Oyewale, Accord Party, Jolaoluwa Olutosin, APM, NNPP will field Kasim Jakie Adunni, while Iskil -Ogunyomi Safiat Olajogun is the candidate of AA.
