Adeleke adjusts curfew in Ifon, Ilobu, Erin-Osun as tensions ease

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved the relaxation of the curfew imposed on the crisis-affected communities of Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun, following improved security reports from relevant agencies.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the curfew will now be observed from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. daily, replacing the previous 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. restriction.
The new directive takes effect from today, Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Governor Adeleke commended the traditional rulers—the Olufon of Ifon, the Olobu of Ilobu, and the Elerin of Erin-Osun—as well as other stakeholders for their efforts in fostering peace across the three communities.
He warned, however, that the state government would not hesitate to take decisive action against any individual or group found inciting new unrest in the area.
Adeleke also urged the 100-man Boundary Resolution Committee to expedite its work in resolving the lingering disputes that have contributed to tensions among the communities.
“Finally, I am using this medium to urge the 100-man Boundaries Resolution Committee for Ifon/Ilobu/Erin to expedite action on the boundary resolution among the three communities,” the statement read.
