Adeleke cautions Osun MDAs against violating procurement law

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has issued a stern warning to ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in the state, urging strict compliance with the newly enacted procurement law.

Addressing members of the State Executive Council during a meeting in Osogbo on Friday, the governor emphasized that the law was designed to strengthen transparency, accountability, and due process in public procurement.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to full enforcement of the legislation.

“I must remind us all of the new procurement law now in force. No ministry or agency is permitted to bypass the prescribed process,” the governor stated. “It is in everyone’s interest to strictly follow the guidelines and uphold the integrity of our public spending.”

He also urged council members to be mindful of all financial regulations governing state operations, warning that any lapse could jeopardize the administration’s track record of good governance.

Commending the Executive Council for its commitment to service delivery, Adeleke charged them to ensure the seamless implementation of the 2025 budget.

“The success of this government depends on how effectively we execute our plans,” he said. “Despite financial constraints, we must remain focused and deliver on our targets using the resources available to us.”

The governor concluded by reiterating that his administration would not tolerate any breach of the procurement process or mismanagement of state funds.
