Adeleke commends DSS over arrest of 10 Boko Haram suspects in Osun

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for a successful operation that led to the arrest of 10 suspected members of Boko Haram/Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Ilesa, Osun State.
Adeleke praised the alertness of security operatives in neutralizing the threat posed by the suspects, stating that this operation reaffirms the capability of Nigeria’s security agencies to sustain peace and security across the country.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor particularly applauded the DSS for its intelligence-gathering efforts. He noted that the agency had diligently monitored the activities of the suspects and acted swiftly to prevent their plans from being executed.
He said, “This is a welcome development and a big relief, not just for us as a government but also for the people of the state and Nigeria as a whole. I commend the security operatives for their alertness and intelligence-driven operation. We have absolute confidence in our security forces to continue protecting us.”
Adeleke assured residents that his administration will maintain strong cooperation with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in Osun, emphasizing that this remains a top priority for his government.
“As the Chief Security Officer of Osun State, I will continue to prioritize the safety of my people. We will support the efforts of security agencies to prevent any breakdown of law and order in any part of the state. The collaboration between our administration and the security agencies in Osun will remain strong,” the Governor said.
He also urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods to the relevant security authorities. Adeleke assured the people that Osun would continue to be a peaceful state under his leadership.
“I call on all residents to continue living in peace and harmony while remaining alert to report any suspicious behavior or activities to the appropriate security agencies. Together, we will ensure that Osun remains the most peaceful state in Nigeria.”
